TASO announces the STaRT PROGRAM
The THSCA recognizes that there is a shortage of officials in our state and we want to help in any way we can. We are excited to partner with Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO) to market the launch of their new "STaRT Program" (Students Today are Referees Tomorrow).
This program is designed to recruit high school and college student athletes as sports officials. To show them how student athletes can stay involved in the game they love by becoming a sports official.
In addition to targeting the students through their school and coaches, STaRT will also schedule meetings across Texas where the students can learn about officiating at the high school level from representatives of local chapters.
The THSCA is asking our Texas coaches to help assist TASO by introducing the STaRT program to their senior athletes.
